Bindle is a bookmarking service with a real archive. Every time you save a link, Bindle fetches the page, keeps a copy of it, and indexes the text so you can search inside it later. When the original moves, gets paywalled, or vanishes entirely — and roughly a quarter of the web does, every decade — your copy still opens.

Why it exists

The bookmarking services with real depth were designed before the modern web and charge extra for archiving, as if it were a luxury. The modern-looking alternatives stop at “a list of links.” Bindle is the full feature set — tags, bundles, notes, private bookmarks, feeds, an API, import and export — at the craft level of a current app, with the archive included because the archive is the whole point.

How it’s run

Bindle is built and operated by a single independent developer. There is one plan, twenty dollars a year, and it is the entire business model. There are no investors expecting a growth curve, no ad network, no analytics on your saved pages, and no free tier — a free tier has to be paid for by someone, and on the web that someone is usually the user. Charging a small, honest price is what lets Bindle plan in decades.

What you can count on

Your data is yours: a one-click export of everything, an HTTP API that speaks the long-established delicious vocabulary so existing tools keep working, and RSS for any view. If Bindle ever had to shut down, you would get months of notice and a complete export first. Questions? See the contact page.
